Course description:

• The Scratch 2.0 programming course teaches computational thinking concepts and approaches - for example logical reasoning, algorithms, abstraction, decomposition, debugging, collaboration etc.
• The students will learn and apply these concepts by programming animations, stories, games through Scratch.
• Programming concepts such as initialization, conditionals, loops, procedures, variables, lists, events, concurrency etc are taught.

Assessment:

• Homework, quizzes and projects are part of the course.
• They will help improve as well as assess the student’s ability to understand, apply and create.
• Based on their achievement, students can progress to next level.

Scratch is a product of MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten Project. More information about Scratch is available at: http://scratch.mit.edu/

Since we individually track each student, we are able to guide students to work on completely different projects or concepts. While coding is challenging, it is a great growth experience for kids. By helping your child overcome their hurdles we provide them the confidence to take control of technology.

• Grades: 1 to 12
• Class duration: 1 hour weekly
• Cost: $199 per month
• Timing: Mon - Thu 5-6, 6.15-7.15, 7.30-8.30 Sun 10.15-11.15, 11.30-12.30
• Locations: Sammamish
• Class size: up to 8 students
• Prerequisites: Basic computer skills
